What makes PHP different from HTML?

Hey guys, I am thinking to learn PHP after HTML but do PHP is different then HTML in any way? I don't want to waste my time on PHP if it doesn't gives more things on web programming then HTML.

php is a web programming, it most used for maintain server side or back-end. generally, php same with html, but php have built-in preprocessor.

@Forge : if you want to be back-end developer, but dont want to learn PHP, you can learn it from javascript. Javascript can work as a server side too with node.js

@Forge Ice, yes PHP is different with HTML in many ways, as it is a programming language with supports for decision, repetition (loops), and many more. HTML on the other hand, doesn't have such feature, but PHP needs HTML on the front line to expose the output of its work, directly or indirectly. Learning is not a waste of time at all, though, you have your freedom to choose your next journey, be it PHP or any other things. Cheers!
