anyone ever set meta tags with the intention of business reporting? where can one learn more in business rules for tagging?

I build reports for a client, pulling g.analytics reports is a proper w.e.t process. figured I can put report templates in place but I need a methodology in renaming product pages and tags associated in categories I have already defined. I'm really looking for tips, help and directions. ...I need to sleep again
