Do I gain XP when skipping through a course?

My main goal is to get a few certificates and XP as part of my portfolio. Do I get XP when skipping ahead in courses? I know HTML, Python, Jquery, Java, PHP and so on very well and have worked with them for years. It just seems tedious to complete all tasks.

Brentspine depends on what you are referring to skipping through... Yes you obtain xp for completing lessons in the courses.

You are not required to do any courses but if you are well versed in the above languages why not go ahead and complete them as refreshers. I do the courses regularly even though I know them and know them well ... The task and code coaches reinforce your knowledge over and over again.

I’ve talked about “Skipping ahead”. You get the option to skip lessons, but i guess i can just do them if I have the time to do so…

Brentspine , have you tried skipping and finding out what happens? I don't think you get anything for it, but I can't quite remember. You can reset courses, though, and I've gotten XP that way before. But it's been a while since i've reset anything, so i'm not entirely sure what happens now.
