In 4 years of college you are probably going to study subjects in order to become a Software Engineer.

I don't think that a degree is mandatory to become an Android Developer, but employers will more easily consider someone with a title instead of someone without.

But it is indeed required an excellent knowledge of languages like Java, Kotlin and more.

Android Development is a pretty competitive environment, so make sure to keep your skills in a good level.
