is artificial intelligence possible?

it's all about complex programms right?then how can we make a machine act as us with unpredictable output?eh IBM Watson.if we ask a question to IBM Watson and just switch of it and go through the programme and find result and switch on Watson we will get same output as just we calculated right?then where is the uncertainty factor of decision making in it?how we can include that uncertainty facor in it? I am 16 year old if make any mistake in question you correct me and please give your insight in this

@SAMYAK SARAN PRASAD At first, thinking logically, AI seems impossible. This is because (as you said) once we (humans) have written the code for an AI, its output can be predicted by going through the code. But electricity would have seemed impossible in the Stone Age, wouldn't it ? A simple counterexample to this reasoning is the Random Number Generator. The function rand() has already been defined, but its output can't be predicted. (I think this is because there is a bit of Statistics involved in the rand() function.) There have already been a few (maybe a lot of) advancements in AI. Siri, Alexa and Mark Zuckerberg's JARVIS are some of the examples. It can be said that developments in AI are currently at a primitive stage (as on 4 February 2017). There is a lot that can be done in this field, and it will surely be fun.

the question is not "IS IT POSSIBLE?" but.. " WHEN IT'S POSSIBLE..!!?" see, we already achieved bird level of intelligence. before that we achieved insect level intelligence, then we achieved rat level intelligence, Once we reach at chimpanzee level (which is not very far, probably less than 100yrs) in no time we will achieve human level of intelligence in a machine.

Not only it's possible, it's happening! google for "alphago" and then "libratus".

Well, AI. The term is Artificial Intelligence, doesn't the term say alot to us? Yes, first thing it says is, intelligence made artificially. It is all about bringing a self intelligence in non-living things which can't have brain to achieve that intelligence. Now coming back to your question, I would say it is possible, we are not at that stage but will get there for sure. Not just because of we haven't achieved that success, we can't would be wrong saying. For now bits can only pinch the place we targeted.
