I think PHP wins Python as a backend language, because I've heard that PHP still runs as backend for about 80% of the websites. (This information can be outdated)

PHP is much older than python and there are lot's of differences..
So i don't think this is a good question..
If you like to work as a backend programmer PHP is much much better
But if not Python more common nowadays...
