I suggest another level of animation with python. Try using Blender. It comes with python and I believe it has its own IDE and environment. It could run on linux and windows. I don't know about other OS. Blender is a 3D modelling, mapping, texturing, and animation software. It also comes with its own engine in Python. You could code it. Learning it is easy.

Yes. Modules like pygame lets you do that. You can even create 2D games!

Sanskriti I personally haven't tried hands on with pygame yet. I prefer working with kivy and have created sort of animations with that. Speaking of working example of pygame, I can see few( including a flappy bird game) here available in the example in an app called Pydroid3, recommended one if you wanna use python on Android. And about how to do that, you cannot just start something new by just inspecting the code rather I would recommend you to follow some tutorials and work out with simple examples to get familiar with it.
