The main coz is java is supported on huge no. of different platforms. It is used to develop apps for android and PC. A java programmer can think of many innovative ideas freely. Hence its a most in demand programming language and it's programmers too.

they're not. programmers are paid less than software engineers. take 10 mins of research on indeed.com will show that C and C++ software engineers are generally paid the most. Java and c# are not too far behind. in general, due to the investment companies made over the past 10 years into their backend systems that were mainly written Java, maintaining these systems and adding features will keep software engineers with java experience very much in demand and will keep salaries high. c# has a similar situation in the finance and investment industry and those requiring thick client GUIs. Nearly all embedded software is c or c++...and literally runs the worlds gadgets, vehicles, mirrors, gas pumps, airplanes, etc
