Well, Java is not a bad place to start because you can use it for so many different things but it depends on what you want to play with 😊 As soon as you get comfortable with one programming language, it will be easier to understand other languages. I suggest that you start playing a little bit with Java as I can see you already did 😉 and SoloLearn will take you through the basics step by step 👌

@Donald, I see your point but it depends on interest. Do you want to make web applications with server side stuff or applications which are independent of other languages. Like @Gordie said, easy doesn't mean that it's the best choice. A lot of universities throw Java at students as one of the first languages even though they never seen or heard of it before. And yes I know @So far to seoul is 13 years old but still. I wish I had the same interest for programming when I was 12-13 years old. And remember.. never give up 👍

It depends what kind of programs do you want to create? I was making simple animations and games when I was a teenager. I was using assembler and basic as they were only languages available on my limited computer. Today you have a lots of options. And computers, even simple ones , can do a lot of things. I think, it is very easy to Start with HTML and JavaScript , many programs are being rewritten using them. You will build basics very fast. Just start with 2 courses on Sololearn - HTML + JavaScript, start coding and see what others have created. Happy coding. have fun!
