How to be perfect in solving problems ?

I studied some programming languages but when I be asked to solve a problem I get confused where to start . how to practice it . I need some advises reflected by real experiences .

You can check the discussions tab on that challenge. Usually, people discuss really nice stuff, including answers. Make sure, not to read it before trying for a bit.
