Do you think that downvoting should be disabled?

I think that if codes or questions can be downvoted it might be a discouraging factor in posting again. What do you think?

If you see valid questions that have been down voted, you could give them an up vote? I think it should probably stay, at the very least on answers. It is like anything though, open to abuse by people for who knows what reason. By the way, if you would like to read other opinions on this it has been discussed at length before https://www.sololearn.com/discuss/542586/?ref=app https://www.sololearn.com/discuss/794694/?ref=app There are a few more. Have a search of the forum. Edit: For clarification, the reason I want it to stay is I use the system to scan for inappropriate content. If I see lots of down votes it is usually an indicator that the post is wrong in some way.

I think it should be disabled. You could always report stolen codes/Posts that are not following the content creation guidelines.

I haven't down voted anything yet. I have seen things I disagree with but to each their own. Considering this is a learning site not a professional one I wouldn't mind not having the option.

I think that the downvoters must not be anonymous. I feel it not fair, and not constructive. If it's just for the '+' and '-' count, then the upvoters should be anonymous too.

The problem with down votes not being anonymous is the potential of starting drama and hate against other users since they know who you are, causing even more down votes in return

I've thought of this and I think yes. Some people just down vote for revenge or evil or stuff like that.My belief is if you do not like a code or a post then don't upvote it!simple!

I tought about the same thing. If someone wants to downvote, he should be forced to post a comment about what. Because he can say everything, except the reason of the downvote.

Well, you can't downvote twice, right? If you are reasonable person (you don't like the drama situations) and you are downvoted on your comments, you can stop answering or delete your posts. What about the codes? Assume you post a code and you are happy that the guys you respect upvotes it. But later you got 3 downvotes and wondering who and why.

Downvote should require comments (and indicated that it was for a downvote). However those users should be able to be anonymous, but others should have the ability to vote on their vote.
