The simple answer is you don't. remember badges exist for your satisfaction. When you get some badge for doing something which took effort on your part. the satisfaction of it matters the most. it's the loss or no gain for easy badge receivers. people who actively pursue badges without effort should understand they are for their own satisfaction. getting them without effort is like not getting it at all. in the end the knowledge, fun, experience you get, is what matters. don't take things too much seriously. it's more complicated than can be explained. making it harder to get badges may seem fair & improve it's value. but... it will make people more desperate to get them ( Epic's the name right :)? ). on a side note: does anyone remember the excitement when you barely had a single badge ( verified )? got 1st upvote for your code? that time when you start and now when you have many badges it's different won't you agree? " Cherish the past, enjoy the moment, be happy for the future. " don't let others, way of getting things dim your achievement. you know you got it the hard way cherish it be happy. Good Night :=)

the badges have no value. Absolutely no value after shutdown. The only person who can grant value to your badges are you alone. and you alone know how you got them. If you are a sololearn fan, you know the stars of this game. Becoming a star does not depend on badges but on the quality of your contributions.

@Gordie I just reached level 14 and I am proud of this. Also for me my badges are important. The illusion of importance is part of the game. it is part of every game(soccer, chess. wow,life...) But my respect for e.g you is not (only) your level. I see solutions for challenges, contributions a bit more than "blabla". and this makes me think ...how I should follow you. This kind of thinking makes me independent on XPs for "I am two years old...." I know, there are kids playing in sololearn, having 20 accounts to upvote thrmselves. And I know as well there is a network of sololearners who are able to distinguish between silly levels and honest levels.

I recently got the 'Top Answer' Badge, not on my contributions to C++ queries, but on a joke I posted way earlier on a thread that shouldn't even be here. I have also felt that the badges have lost their lustre. Earlier, I used to feel proud that I got some badge, as i deserved it, but now,I don't feel so. Its because most of us have the same badge and a few haven't even gone through the effort it takes to get that badge. The 'epic' badge is a wonderful example,as there even exist posts describing shortcuts to get the same. Similarly, you can get the likes using likestorms, which I am now against. I want people to like my activity only if they feel that it deserves that like, not just because I am followed by them or I am a popular person. I do the same to others. (Sorry, but this is what I do.) In my posts for insight into Sololearn, I learned that for a question to be popular among others, it must be innovative or should attract a lot of people. But only the questions not related to programming are able to achieve this. The questions that are truly worth discussions, are ignored. Some time ago, you posted on my post 'Guide to Tagging', that it was an effort in vain. This effort, however, isn't. Provided you get the popularity, you will be able to get some change.
