Diff b/w c++ thought in school and the one tought by this app

i learn c++ in school but its very diff compared to this app.
Like in school header files are written with a '.h' after it.

SoloLearn uses gcc (currently 4.8.1:
https://gcc.gnu.org). If you learned Borland Turbo C++ ... that's famous for its time but not main-line

Is learnig the old version okey as in will it cause a problem if was to pursue a career in programing.
