in 2022 is a good choice to start with jquary and then continue with react for web development?

Best way to decide is to look at job offers, and my suggestion is to learn react or other js framework like angular or vue.

Jquery exist in many sites, but mostly because of bootstrap (it use it behind the hood, and if I am not wrong new version of bootstrap dont use it anymore)

Jquery is still popular , but I recommend you to choose react - with react you will have higher chances to get a job.
