When we ask you questions, and you help us with your codes which do you prefer:

1) That we don't copy/save your code at least on SoloLearn, 2) That we entitle the code with your name as we save it and keep it in private mode(you might want to delete your original code since you don't need it, after all) 3)Or we don't include your name in the code file name, as it is included in the code by default(SoloLearn does that, right, I used to think people just wrote that themselves) and keep it private. I am specifically asking about it because it's only occured to me now, that copied codes could get upvoted instead of the original. Maybe the helpers don't care but this is about the helper getting the love for the work. AFAIK, none of the 3 is a violation but I'd like to know what you prefer, if you have the time. Thank you. Edit: By teacher or helper I mean any advanced SoloLearner who has written a code just to help a beginner understand a concept.

I prefer if codes I write are saved by the person I wrote it for, provided my contribution is helpful and desired to be studied thoroughly, and discussed at a later stage. The reason is simply that I may remove it from my code bits when cleaning up. I think that code saved locally this way does not even have to be made public. If public, I think it is just simple kindness and appreciation if the original author is mentioned. That holds also for parts of a larger project that have been written by someone else. Apart from that, I do not care much about votes on my codes 🙂 But others may. Important for me is courteousness, and to know that I could help 🙂

1) if I post a code means, it's as an answer, and helps OP as needed .. You can copy, because later, I may delete it, if I don't remember why I coded it.. Or if it is not important in question for further. 2) saving it as public mode or keep it private mode => you can go with as your requirement.. Giving credits is better in anyway.. But giving credits is must if copy without permission.. 3) that's what Sololearn prefers also.. I don't make public if I posted it q/a because it's may not entire my code. It may just a correction I added or not my idea... So private codes may not get upvotes until we share it... It's some times depends on luck also.. I don't care much.. It's a bonus only if we get upvotes according to me. Hoping I understood your question correctly... 🙂

Ani Jona 🕊 Thank you for your response. Lol you and Jaya are among the people whose responses I have the habit of reading when I see them, if it's about Python or Data(I think I saw you in questions about Data Structure) . So this is extra good to know.

Okay it think your point is very solid and I think every code creator or writer would love his/her code to attributed to him/her It think I would go by the default which from sololearn

Jayakrishna🇮🇳 Thank you. I always keep the SoloLearn default "created by..." But I used to not know it was default, and thought that people added it, so I would add the name to the file title, as in "Jayakrishna's Classes Study", made this up, now. And yes, you've done more than answer my question: I've NEVER asked for permission though :/ I'd assumed that the codes written for us, specifically at least, were free for saving, so that the helper could delete theirs as soon as possible if they so wished. I also refrain from DM'ing as much as possible, but thank you, I might have been delusional. I feel uneasy when I copy them because people might see our private code stash and upvote us even if the code doesn't belong to us

About permission, I mean, you can find lot of useful codes in other SL sections.. If you want save it or use it code or idea, better to ask permission or give credits to original. Otherwise it is not good (or OP can report also) .. In q/a, if I posted, it is for OP and he/she can use it as needed.... Updvote/down votes does not matter. Only if it helped the OP or not is matters for me.. Yes. I may also delete on when cleaning up.. And if it is no longer need. It's hard to find, if I am not properly add information about code I posted. I have some which I am not finding where I posted , now I am adding proper info. But there also cases, I posted in q/a, but that question is deleted, then better to delete to free up space... About DM, generally, I welcome anyone if it is program related.. and does not force any manner to must reply and be easy to answer.. Not much time it take. You know limit of asking and in manners.. I have words to explain. I have request to give only code, which some annoys but i reply
