How it works?

Question is, Vim is written in C but when I install it in my terminal only Vim install, Why not C ? . How terminal understands c code?

Vim is just a code editor, you need a compiler to convert your .c code to .exe code you can install gcc, Clang ..


a) C is a compiled language, you don't need a compiler to run things once compiled in it b) no, vim terminal doesn't understand C c) the only language that works "out of the box" in vim is VimL script[1]. Are you under Windows? [1] although Perl, Python, Lua, MZScheme etc. support can be optionally compiled in.
