Why should I learn python?

I'm curious because this is my first coding language and I was wondering why it is so popular.

Nobody says you have to. It's popular with the novices because it's easy to get started with. Personally I don't bother with it much since it offers me nothing that I can't do in any of the other languages that I am already familiar with. Python is not a new language. It's actually been around for 30 years. It's even older than Java, JavaScript, and C# yet has not gained anywhere near the market penetration of any of those languages, despite the noise generated by the Python fanbase. It depends on what you want to program. Some languages are better suited to certain tasks than others. The Python fanboys are going to have a fit when they see this.

Python is simple but writing your own classes in it is a train wreck compared to C++, Java, C#, or even JavaScript. Python makes simple things really easy, and everything else a pain in the rear end.

Ok, I think I will.

Mubasshir Ahammed Miraj to answer your points 1. Python s the easiest language, that's debatable and a matter if opinion. Personally I think Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code (BASIC) is much simpler. 2. We can do app development, desktop development by python. - Yet very few people do. Building standalone Android applications in Python is not easy and still requires the Android SDK, so yo may as well use the SDK in the first place. Very few desktop applications are written in Python. In the thirty years since Python was released I have only used one 100% Python desktop application and it was flakey. I get the impression that it was written in Python to prove a point rather than to produce a reliable and useable application. 3. We can use it on backend web - According to W3Techs Python is used on only 1.4% of severs whereas PHP is used on 79.2%. https://w3techs.com/technologies/overview/programming_language I could cut my lawn with a pair of nail clippers, or empty a swimming pool with a thimble if I choose to. Just because something can be done doesn't mean it should be done.

Ok, I will keep that in mind for now, but thank you for your response.

Martin Taylor, I agree with you. I would say that I only learned Python because everyone else in my research group was using it when I just got started. I began to realize after tutoring it for a while that python codes are much shorter than C/C++, but the computational speed is immeasurably slower. I was given a python script to run for 5000 simulations, and it took several minutes. After rewriting the code in C++, I was able to perform several million simulations in a matter of seconds. So I'd say that Python is really for lazy people, but it's worth learning because it is used so much. I would compare Python to English, learn it so that you can communicate with others.

seriously, python is developed from C?

If you should learn Python, what actually matters is your understanding and interest in it. Python is a fun language. The more you learn about BASICS, the more fun you'll have while coding it. Python is probably the easiest languages of all, though it includes syntaxes, it can be easily understandable when compared to other programming languages. And Python has become so popular that, it's being used in various technological fields like developing AI, Machine Learning, Data analysis and in few areas of Internet of Things. This is what which makes it so popular and important at the same time. Best of luck! Happy coding!

Actually Python is a easy programming language to learn. Another feature of python is that you can create programs with less code. It can be used for database purposes but as Martin Taylor said it is used in very few servers. But python is also used for Artificial intelligence and app development.

Python is popular and is one of the most flexible language it means you can do multiple different things. Python is the most bigger friendly language and if you master it is will surely help you understand other languages easily.

First of all complete the Python course. Search for some good books or websites for Python or any video tutorials.

Lmao but I heard that python was a simple language compared to another interesting language auch a. c++

Cuz in now days phyton is the easiest and friendly code. It's like writing an English notes.

It's not a must to learn python but in this technological age, it's better you have a basic understanding about popular programming languages. You never know when it'll be useful

it's majorly used by data scientists though, and Machine Learning too
