I'd strongly recommend learning JavaScript if you want to do web development. It's important in building modern websites/webapps if you need them to be dynamic and feel quick when there's quite a lot of user interaction. It's perfectly possible to build a nice looking static website without JavaScript if you use HTML and CSS well. It's also perfectly possible to build a dynamic website/webapp without JavaScript if you use a different server-side language, usually with a framework. E.g. Ruby and Ruby on Rails. You just won't be able to make things feel as responsive for user interaction as if you used JavaScript well because you'll need to talk to the server a lot and refresh the page a lot.

Hi! if you do not plan to create dynamic pages and interact with the user, create interactivity, then yes, then you do not need a javascript

Javascript is optional but if you'll sometimes need it if youre just about doing web codes

No, it is not necessary to use JavaScript. JavaScript provides client side coding features. It is possible to leave any processing to the back end if required. Some sites do not require any processing on the client or server side. Such sites are known as static websites. You can always come back to JavaScript at a later date if you find you have a need for it.

Just start building some cool websites, and worry about javascript later :)

If you don't like Javascript. I would strongly suggest you to try Blazor with c#. Blazor will enable you to create web applications using c# and HTML but you still have to learn a new language (c# in this case).

In web development, learning JavaScript is the decisive step to becoming a programmer from just a coder.
