You can use visual studio code -> to do this at least you need to be advanced android project architecture. And to use it it is not quite straight forward like Android studio so need to clone starter Android kotlin/java project -> add the required plugins kotlin/java, gradle, Android launcher... But you would not have XML preview Or eclipse.Actually, Eclipse is obsolete android developer stopped adding update to ADT So it may run smoother when compared to android studio but you would have older sdk's #CROSS PLATFORM#(Not used mostly to develop larger app with larger system commands) Or tkinter(python), this method would be light weight when compared to the above but you can say has almost no community when compared to compared if you are advanced in js try out react native. react-native would be the nice platform to jump if you have web development background if you wanna try new langs. hmmm 🤔see flutter this would be the best cross platform app developer
