Well... I think atom is better, but I recommend use VSC (VisualStudio Code). But I think "PyCharm" is the best IDE for Python.

I use Pycharm for more than two years, Pycharm is the best IDE for Python to do professional development ... Code maintenance, debugging, unit testing are very handy and there is the integration of CVS, GIT .. I can suggest you to use Visual Studio, but you can also Atom as per your choice.

in my opinon pycharm is the best. it has a internal compiler and u can run your code inside it.

I use anaconda. It's pretty good and has a lot of keyboard shortcuts too. Alternatively you can use a sublime text editor.
