use everything available at your hands, like CSS to make it beautiful and JavaScript to add functioning and validation, use php and to make it secure use methods that prevent SQL injection. hope this helps

Tips:
1.Don't forget to put semicolons whenever required.
2.Instead creating to many variables for a categorie, create an array for it.
3.Use inbuilt functions.
