Start to use frameworks can be painfull, they mostly request to have a good basic knowledge of a language and some general programming language (MVC, OOP,...) and for some it will be good to know how to use commands in terminal. To be able to tell you with what framework you could work you should let us know what do you wan't to do with javascript ? I mean javascript is a very common language that is use for front end, back end but also outside web. I often use it with Adobe tools...
