What is programming according to your understanding?

people are still considering html as a programming language yet it isn't. I've listed some of the most important programming languages that one use to differentiate between hyper text markup language and a pogramming language

Computer programming is a way of telling a computer how to do certain things by giving it instructions. These instructions are called programs. A person who writes instructions is a computer programmer. These instructions come in different languages; they are called programming languages
