Senisa Aldape < $300 searches come up with laptops equipped with atom or celeron processors, which would really suffer at moderate computing tasks. If you consider something between $300 to $500, you should be able to get an i3 processor with a decent 4gb DDR3 ram, and maybe even dedicated GPU. E.g. https://www.amazon.com/Asus-X551CA-15-6-Inch-Laptop-Windows/dp/B00P8OMIDK

Sounds like you are not planning to test memory-intensive programs, or do heavy graphic/video editing? Are you slanted towards performance, or do you prefer a laptop which charge would last a day with quite some load? Or do you have no preference or special usage and simply want balanced gear? Do you have a budget?
