Linking answers hurts learning

I get it, people should use the search function a little more, but almost every question possible has already been asked. Almost every new question is met with someone sharing a link to another post. A big part of my learning was on this forum, researching and answering people's questions. I probably learned as much doing that as anything else I have done to learn to program. Now, that part of the learning has essentially been removed for me and anyone who would have used that to continue their learning. It really takes the fun out of the forum and renders it quite useless. Why not simply remove the Q&A and change it to an archive at this point if that's how you want it used?

Hi, I agree that giving users the opportunity to research and answer questions will be beneficial to their learning. With link references to other thread(s), it does limit what users can make use of in response to a common question. Alternatively one can always answer the question in their own interpretation and perhaps provide an analogy of their own that they have found useful or that could be useful for others. Great point nonetheless.
