Php is easier, definitely. Asp is awesome but has a steep learning curve. However once you're over the hump, asp + C# + MVC = Web coding heaven. If you have time, check out both to see which you prefer.
Just bear in mind: php is a programming language; asp is Web development framework. They are incomparable in that sense.
