I think there will be many languages to program computers with the predominate computer language being very similar to the predominate human language. As computer languages get higher and higher level they'll come closer and closer to human language. Of course, there will be also some extensions to make the more tricky stuff for experts, if wanted. Basically, people (everybody can program) will tell computers what they want (in more or less normal language) and then model the outcome suggested by the computer until it's good enough. Predominant, as used above, means basically the most used language and not the most advanced or anything like that...

hmm english is predominant for many reasons, but not because it's "the best language". for a programming language to be predominant we should hope that it is because it's the perfect language that will perform best at all tasks...sounds very utopic to me. but who knows 🤗

It will be difficult because lot of programming languages are tailored to suit for certain sectors. You can't develop a web site in C nor programming a microcontroller using javascript. Maybe using some weird libraries you can but what about performances? And what about some languages like R or MatLab?

Definitely not, Natalya Peixoto, couldn't agree more. Cultural, historical context aside, my question goes more towards Andrea Simone Costa 's answer, in the sense that maybe we'll one day have a multifunctional and all predominant programming language most people will use as a common communication language. Who knows? 😁 Thanks for sharing your thoughts as well. 👍
