CSS3 + HTML5 means less JavaScript?

These new technologies are really changing the way the web is programmed. Does this Intel that we should focus less on JavaScript and more on PhP since they are both scripting languages??

In fact, when you wrote about the really "new technologies", the Javascript and PHP too belong to the "oldies technologies", the basics". As "new technology" is for example the Ajax, or HTML 5, or CSS3, or some frameworks. Whose can solve some problems better and more efective than standard Javascript or PHP too. But usually not without them. In fact you have to learn all technologies, oldies and the newest too, not to ignore (or focus less) some of them.

CSS is for styling, HTML5 for the content/structure and JS is for the interactivity and dynamic content. Neither technology deprecates the other, they all work together.
