because it is made for this.. you can make your own programming language.. add your rules comments are visible or not

You put comments to make the CODE itself more readable when editing it. It's especially useful when you code with other people (example: here is this section, here's this other one which is blue for this reason etc.) or as notes for yourself to keep things in order and easy to understand when you open your own code and some time passed. It's a memory refresher :)
