Is java easier to learn than Python?

People say Python is easier.

IMO it may be more beneficial to go with Java if you're undecided, as Java is closer to other languages such as C/C#/C++ than python is.

python looks to be simpler for things such as out put to console, so the basics may be easier to learn in python
