That is two questions, actually.

First, you don't need heart to create code.
To create code, click "Create", "+" sign and select a language. And you are good to go.

Second, the heart system helps you to learn thoughtfully, so nobody can pass a lesson by clicking all the combinations of any possible answer.

Besides, although it sounds "capitalism", while SoloLearn is providing the lessons for free (no access to AI help and PRO exercise), they need money to maintain the services. On a bare minimum, they need income to cover the running cost, otherwise they will out of business.
