Is it possible to create some sort of terminal from one of these playgrounds or is that restricted?

Why you mention 'hot' and 'hack' in the Relevant Tags?
What terminal exactly did you mean? for your information, Code Playground implements execution time limit, thus interactive programs just isn't supported.
