How is C# going to help me in android app develpment?

some people told me to also learn C# to improve android app development. besides that i'll have to learn java. is C# hard? should i abandon java course and start C#?

C# is available with xamarin. You can create cross platform applications with it.

It won't very much. C# is very similar to Java (the language used by android) but it would be best to just go learn java instead of c#.
