Strongest language for websites?

so mainly I see websites made with HTML or HTML5, but sometimes I see them made xhtml. So I'm wondering what's the advantages of using other languages instead of the usual HTML5 for making websites

oh good thing you told me that. I got XHTML and XML confused. Well I learn something new everyday with this app. I noticed CSS has a bit more of those features then HTML and HTML5 but I couldn't say for sure since I was a beginner. Thanks for the new knowledge

XHTML can be considered an older version of HTML, And don't confuse it with XML because they have no similar purposes but the syntax.Generally other languages besides HTML, CSS and Javascript have back-end purposes, so knowing this main difference, we can say that the advantage of using other language is having more features of Back-end, as pure HTML/HTML5 is not able to do.

HTML/HTML5 is for the pages, and CSS for styling/design purposes for the pages, @Ayumi :) Even animations can be done by CSS3 now. Completing both HTML/CSS courses from here you'll be able to understand better what i mean. Also, check some of my codes as a reference of understanding, i generally use HTML5/CSS3 for styling and animation(some of them also JS). this one ia personally one of my favourites, and it's done with no JS at all for the animation: https://code.sololearn.com/WzkaeJ2jq5P1/?ref=app
