To become a professional programmer you need to do a lot of projects to gain the required experience. I love this thing: https://github.com/practical-tutorials/project-based-learning?tab=readme-ov-file , which is a good place to start.

Also based on ur career interests, you should try to learn about different methods and techniques involved. For example, try to learn algorithms, apis( if u are interested in web apps), databases, etc. Experience with different tools and technologies is just as important as experience with a specific programming language.

Its also great learning experience to try to find out how tools u see and use every day are implemented, and attempt to recreate it with ur own skills.
