Do the certificates of completion of courses here have any real value?

Hey folks, colleagues, staff... I am thinking it'd be probably best to ask before diving deep into some programming languages a couple things. I will post each question as a separate one. Do the certificates of completion of courses here have any real value? What format are they delivered upon aquiring (lossless SVG or PDF / limited PNG / lossy JPG, etc.)? May I assume I can use them in CV, or whatever place without having trouble with licensing? Thank you! Cheers, Vlastimil

Vlastimil Burián the Sololearn certificates only represent a beginner skill level. If you hope for a certificate that is worthy to show employers, I think that you should aim higher after going through the tutorials here.

Konan the negative number is puzzling. My profile should show 241 following, so it's not an integer overflow. I sent feedback to Sololearn a couple weeks ago. I haven't heard whether they plan to fix it.

For fun or additional? Maybe. I personally just collected them from different platforms with different difficulty levels, but in my real CV I'd never use one, because it feels somehow unprofessional to me. Which is a pity in some ways, because I got to know some (if not many) programmers who are pretty far away from the (sustainable and complete) knowledge of an advanced course certification by the more reliable code-learning apps and work at big companies. The thing is - sooner or later in almost all of them you can somehow click threw it, cheat threw it or AI threw it (because simply no one controls it). So in the end they aren't worthless - but the only one who is really able to evaluate if you deserved them, is yourself.

I would say that this is the start of a long journey. Bite-sized learning is definitely the way to go - everyone can put in 15 mins a day. That's why a lot of LinkedIn Learning courses are between half an hour to an hour long. 1. Bite-sized learning (up to one hour of learning) Then there are courses which are much longer, either conducted in a physical environment, online or an up-to-8 hours of courses on Coursera. This is more valuable but frankly, do you think having a certificate that you have done a 2 days course in AI makes you eligible for a job in AI? 2. 2-5 days of learning Some of these 2-5 days of learning do come with a test and that certification will be very useful. Examples: 3a. PMP (Project Management), 3b. CISSP or CompTia Security+ (cybersecurity), 3c. AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, 3d. DP-100: Microsoft Azure Data Scientist Associate And then there are courses with Capstone projects that are part time but span across a few months, requiring like 6-8 hours per week of study. These should have more value but the value to a hiring manager is debateable 4. 9 week 7 hours per week - I am attending the Designing and Building AI Products and Services. https://xpro.mit.edu/courses/course-v1:xPRO+AIPSx+R1/ The final one is getting in an internship and doing like 6 months attached to a real company, real work. For me, this has the most value and is the most difficult in terms of time and resource requirements. Or the Masters in something something which takes a year of your life. Hope that helped :-)

I don’t think they are considered professional or advanced enough for employers to care about them. Personally, I would not put it in a CV.
