But if you are aiming high and really want to create your own custom coding language later on, learning C or C++ might give you more control and performance.

unless it's a toy language, it's not as simple as you think.
also, maybe ask yourself what problem is your programming language trying to solve? is it worth the time and effort you will be investing into it?

I think you should ask that question in five or ten years, when you have some more experience. It's not time to think about creating a new language already.
