Which language is most useful to learn first?

Hello everyone, Im new to the sololearn community and Im curious as to which language i should be learning first. I went to the basics of c++ but then realized that java has a lot less classes to take for the certificate...any recommendations.

"I went to the basics of c++ but then realized that java has a lot less classes to take for the certificate" If you base things off of a lazy perspective, programming probably isn't for you. Takes a lot of dedication and time, and a lot of the journey is going to be difficult regardless of which one you pick. However, it is like spoken languages. You have many to pick from, but which one is going to be more useful to your personal situations? If you're around a lot of Spanish speaking people, then learn Spanish. So in this case, what is your goals with programming? What is it that you're seeking to do with that knowledge? Based upon what you're trying to do, and what platform, will depend upon what you should do first. I recommend doing something that compliments your future goals.

@Netkos Well I plan on becoming a software engineer but have no clue which languages I would need to know. I plan on learning them all eventually but Im not sure which to put my time into first. What I meant by that earlier statement is that if it takes less time to learn java wouldn't that be better because i will know at least one language and have skills I can put to use, or is c++ more useful to learn first beacuse I will be using it more often.

If you want to start with an easier language, I recommend Python, since it's easier compared to other pro languages like c++, meanwhile it is powerful and widely used. But don't spend too much time thinking about which language to start first, just choose one and go on learning. When I was starting programming, I had the same confusion; but finally I found myself learning Java. Hope it helped!
