How can I make a living from white hat hacking

The title is the question and what is the best program to do so

I am not a hacker but did consider white hat hacking. I didn't pursue my plan, but I was basically going to:

- Find communities of white hat hackers (Maybe something on Discord or Guilded)
- Use services like Meet Up to find local hackathons
- Find courses on services like Udemy to get me up to speed on the basics
- Once I got comfortable, start participating in bug bounties

I think the most important thing is community. If you develop relationships with people who have similar interests you are surrounding yourself with people who will help keep you focused and motivated. You'll also be surrounded by people who can relate to the struggles you'll face as you push yourself toward success. You may even get some references for a job or a project.
