What do you mean by efficient? Efficient in terms of execution of an algorithm written purely in this language then no Efficient in terms of fast it is to make a prototype of your app/library then more than yes Efficient in terms of ease of interfacing with super fast numerical libraries then yes It all depends on what you're looking for
