Which book should I read to learn java basics???

For an introductory Java course my first year of college, we read Starting Out with Java: Early Objects, written by Tony Gaddis and published by Pearson. It read quite nicely and introduced all the major concepts in a very logical order. The Global Fifth Edition PDF is not hard to find online.
