How do you make your javascript code unreadable?

I have gone to some websites, viewed the page source, and seen that the javascript/jquery section is jumbled up, so it's ineligible. i couldn't understand the workings of the code. I believe that was the aim. I have searched on how to do something like that but have not found anything useful. the html and cos parts were eligible. no issues, but the javascript/jquery was unreadable. I'd love to do something like that. but I don't know how.

also, just occured to me.... some minify services (https://jscompress.com for example) change some function and variable names to make them shorter when minifiying the code so the site you saw could have simply used that
