How many program as a form of study?

Question

for example: in learning python, I've writen a summary of every lesson I've completed in code, using as much of that same lesson as possible, and noting what I don't quite understand, and following up the leason with some more or less worthless code piece testing and demonstrating what I know so far.

Just thought I'd ask, for curiosities sake.
