Although many people say java is very difficult, I would suggest you to try. Kotlin is easier in language but you will lack much help and community support. In java there are tutorials for making yourself a cuisine robot or whatever you want.
And you can always execute java even on a washing machine or a toaster. It's so versatile.
However, if you plan to work on programming, don't focus only on one language. Companies aren't looking for a person for JavaScript, another for html and another one for python or PHP. They need you to be adaptative
