How to take partial derivative of a function in terms of X and Y
F(x,y)=2x^2 + 3xy + 6x + 7y

Although this is a programming forum, I'll give it a try :)

Partial derivative of x (y=const):
4x+3y+6
And for y (x=0):
3x+7

The derivative of a constant is 0. So terms that don't include the variable that you derive equal 0.

That's the only thing you have to remember.
