sql is structured query language which is used by RDBMS(relational database management system) like MySQL to manage data in form of relation (tables) . sql refers to set of commands which are recognised by RDBMS like MySQL . //hope it helps☺

SQL is a programming language used to conduct a query in a database. MySQL is a rdbms just like our MS Access that works on the MySQL server.
