Is this the right decision?

Khey coding family i have been offline for quite some time but am happy to be back in this cool forum...Okay this is my issue.I have been doing java let's say like the last two years ago.My friend and i have even developed my college's facaulty management system(Kinda of an upgrade from the previous one which hadn't some features but we coded from scratch as part of an assignment) using the language(though it has some bugs which needs to be fixed)but my friend is taking care of that because of the reason am to state here.In the beginning of the year i started learning web dev.Started with html5 and then css3 let me say av quite mastered them(scale of maybe 7/10).About two months ago i kicked off with javascript.Since then i have been doing the language alone.I no longer have interest in java.Every passion of coding with java was replaced with javascript.I just feel like dropping java completely.Knowing Javascript can be used in both frontend and backend(using frameworks) makes it even sweeter. But then this is the question i usually ask myself. Is all the time i spent doing java be of waste(though necessarily not so)as the language has good oop concepts that's makes objected oriented programming easily understood.I mean look at the web.It has a large audience same as mobile. There is even this new tech of progressive web apps rapidly growing. Most of this is javascript.Should i really drop Java?Is it a wise move?Am in love with javascript.Somebody please advice

Knowledge just extends the limits of yours. Is never a waste of time since you like what you are doing. And you never know when you 'll need it. Just continue learning anything that you love.
