While you can memorize the basics of a language (like the basic structure, for example), there's always something new to learn about the language. To be a "master" in a language, I'd say that all it takes is the will to improve your knowledge of the language, lots of practice, and the realization that Google and Stack Overflow are your friends. Good luck on your project.

467 days 15 hours 38 minutes and 23 seconds. If you don't sleep, you can gain a couple weeks. Normally, I just tape my eyes open and do "sleepcoding." It's similar to sleepwalking, but much more productive. However, make sure no one wakes you up while you're sleepcoding or you'll have a seizure and turn into a cup of orange juice like that guy who took too much LSD. I can't even count how many times I was almost juiced.

There isn't really a formula to this it differs from one person to another. What ever the thing you are learning is, if you don't put much effort into it it will take longer to master. But then again there are some people who puts in tons of hours and feel like they are not learning much. It really comes down to what methods make YOU learn faster.
