Lost in programming

Hey guys... I'm here with a really stupid question... I'm studying computer programming in Caucasus University and I can't really decide what I want to become... I mean why would I choose software developing or vice versa. What types of programming are there and what are the advantages and disadvantages of them... Please help me find my future <3

what is procedural, functional & object oriented programming etc.
