I'm looking forward to creating a full vr system when I get older but I need to know I'm learning the right version of code.

I don't kno your answer. Why you don't take a look at related docs? I don't know what is a "vr console". If you mean you want to create sometging like HTC Vive or PS VR, I guess you'll need C language. But Im not sure. However do not be worry about this. If you learn Java, you an learn other langs too. It will be very easy for a Java programer to learn similar languages such as C, C++, C#, Lua and ...

Thanks a lot DanI MicraS! I guess I'll just learn them both. and the system I'm making is a full body vr pod kinda thing that acts like a computer and allows the user to have all five senses in vr! but I just need to know if Java will let me program such a machine to be able to do functions such as emit heat or cold smells tastes and feelings (using ultrasound haptic feedback) and the systems vr helmet will also come with an advanced brain scanner so you can move and become your virtual character.

You will have to research and build a language to do that. Dont lose your hype and go all the way to a Phd in Computer Science! Good luck and study a lot!
